Our Story

Artist - Founder

Nagasindhu Nandakumar (Sindhu), is an artist and creative practitioner working across fashion and ceramics. Creating from her home studio, she has been experimenting with clay since 2020 - with a slow and steady practice, focused on small-batch forms, tactile processes, functional and non-functional beauty, she hopes to build a brand that is both, timeless and relatable.

Her ceramic work is shaped by curiosity, presence, and her love for the ordinary.

“As a recovering perfectionist, I have found joy in the subtle irregularities in everything handmade, and that’s the language we speak here, at Moondust. Real, personal and unassuming.”, she says about her approach.

About Moondust

What? Pottery is neither meditative nor dramatically calming for me. It’s an intentional practice, of breaking old habits that don’t serve me anymore, of embracing effort and patience, and of detaching from the outcome. What began as a casual exploration turned into this daily grounding force. (It also turned me into a preachy philosopher, can you tell?) Well, that’s what Moondust is to me - a constant reminder of creative blocks, admin work, cracked pots and beautiful glaze defects.
Why? Starting a brand was never really the intention. It just unfolded gradually. Around a year and a half into working with clay, I found myself wanting to document my process and to hold space for my experiences. That’s where it began. The urge to connect and share my art with people who care about the story behind what they hold. And to keep learning; about clay, about life, about myself.
Where? I work out of my home studio. A small, personal space (in Hyderabad) that feels sacred in its own quiet way. I love the solitude, the stillness, the familiarity. It’s where I feel most at ease, and where creativity usually finds me. For now, it’s just me and my feisty little girl-pup, Nila, figuring things out at our own pace. But, when the time feels right, I’d love to open my studio doors to all of you where we can slow down, make art and a little mess together. I’ll keep you posted when it’s ready!
